The cardiovascular system and some metabolic parameters in patients with diabetes mellitus of the type 2 with different phenotypes of blood group system Lewis

The results of the study allow to assume that the negative phenotype of Lewis system is a factor of increased risk of diabetes as type 2 and its macrovascular complications, and Lewisb+ the positive phenotype - the factor of relative resistance to the development of macrovascular complications in patients with the 2 type of diabetes. The data indicate that there is an association of the occurrence and course of diabetes mellitus type 2 with features of phenotypes of blood group system Lewis.
