Status of social protection sphere in the Russian Federation

The article describes the main directions of social protection of the population, examines the main principles and mechanisms of material support for socially vulnerable groups of the population, examines the main types of social guarantees provided by the state. The analysis of types of social protection in various spheres and spheres of life activity of a society is carried out. The evaluation of effectiveness and the problems of social protection in the Russian Federation are described. As a result, by identifying the main shortcomings, the prospects for implementing changes in the management of the social sphere in the Russian Federation have been identified.
