The author explores the Orthodox worldview as the core value of Russian culture. Soteriology, the doctrine of the salvation of the human soul, is considered as the intention of ancient Russian literature. In this section, three works are briefly analyzed:" the Teaching of Vladimir Monomakh"," the Word about Law and Grace "by Hilarion and "the Life of Theodosius of the caves". For Hilarion, the guarantee of salvation is following the norms of the New Testament. Vladimir Monomakh suggests the idea of "salvation by small deeds", for Feodosiy Pechersky the main thing is asceticism and prayer.
