Cooperation of CIS member states for provision of legal assistance in civil status cases

Close ties of CIS countries determined by the general process of historical development point out to the need for active legal cooperation in the field of international legal assistance. The article deals with the current international and domestic legislation in the field of legal assistance. The study deals with the principle of cooperation applied by different states and considers various positions of scientific researchers on the mentioned problem. In conclusion, the author analyzes problems characteristic of practical situations occurring in the process of providing international legal assistance in civil courts and suggests ways of their solution.
