Cooperation of the customs union and the common economic space in the energy sector

The article discusses the major trends and issues of forming a common space of the Customs Union countries and the Common Economic Space in the energy sector. The author also analyzes the main advantages of the energy systems integration within the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space. Particular attention is given to the specific features of the energy markets development in Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. The author concludes with a number of recommendations for Russian foreign policy on shaping the energy strategy within the framework of Eurasian integration.
