Top secret": events in Azerbaijan (1920s-1930s). Documents on the history of the republic. Part 1. 1922-1926

The proposed publication of a selection of documents and materials traces the evolution of the development of social processes in one of the regions of the country, the Caucasus - the Azerbaijan SSR in the 1920s-1930s, which became one of the components of the multinational Soviet Union. The published block presents materials and documents that for a long time were not available both to the scientific world and to readers interested in this side of society, in the history of the formation of the state, in particular, the Azerbaijan SSR, in the solution by the peoples of the republic of problems related to the formation of statehood, its development taking into account the existing specifics. It makes sense to reveal difficulties of these undertakings arising in new conditions, ways of their overcoming, creation of new, acceptable conditions for stabilisation of the situation. The author is in constant contact with the issues of the history of the Civil War, Soviet construction in an emergency situation, the defence of the gains of the revolution, the solution of the problems of restoring the national economy in the post-war period in the regions, which differed in their specificity due to the factors of multi-ethnicity and multi-confessionalism. The selection of documents of the information points operating on the territory of Russia and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in the period under consideration also contains materials about the cognition of realities by the participants of these social processes, who were building their statehood, searching for such a model of cohabitation that all peoples could live comfortably in it. Undoubtedly, despite the difficulties, it was still possible to solve many problems, including using the available opportunities. It should be assumed that the solution of the above tasks also contributed to the expansion of the documentary source base on the problem of the studied period of Azerbaijan's history in the 1920s.
