Improvement of state legal policy in the field of countering corruption in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

The study discusses the issues of implementing state policy in the field of corruption counteraction in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The research describes the practices of evaluating the effectiveness of anti-corruption activities performed by state authorities and analyzes the activities of government personnel services. The performance rating of the executive bodies’ activities in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is presented as the positive experience in this regard, and anti-corruption activity is reviewed as one of its indicators. The research provides recommendations for strengthening the public control in the fight against corruption and implementing anti-corruption principles while evaluating the administrative personnel activities. The authors propose preparing an annual state report on countering corruption in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), establishing an Academic Advisory Council, and developing a national project or program. These proposals will allow the authorities effectively interacting with public institutions to assess objectively the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures.
