Improvement of information and analytical support of the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia

The paper considers the problem of optimization of some forms of information and analytical support of prevention, solving and investigation of crimes. There are defined advantages and disadvantages of electronic document management system. The tasks to ensure document automation, increase the level of security and information content are outlined. There was conducted a study on organization of electronic and paper document circulation in the criminal investigation units. The analysis of influence of workload with documents on the efficiency of operational and service activity of law enforcement officers, including detectives of criminal investigation department was carried out. Taking into account the specific character of operational and official activities of employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia there are defined main directions for improvement of forms of law enforcement intelligence operations aimed at increasing their effectiveness. The study also considers the possibilities of unification and automation of operations with documents and introduction of intelligent software for working with documents generated as part of carrying out law enforcement intelligence operations.
