The article considers the need to improve the quality of financial planning at the enterprise, through the optimization of the financial planning mechanism to ensure the functioning of the enterprise in conditions of limited resources. The interrelation of financial planning with other types of enterprise planning is shown. The versatile nature of the various plans drawn up at the enterprise and their interrelation is shown. The need to improve the financial planning mechanism through the use of a specific model is emphasized. The model of "Financial planning based on results" is considered.
