Improving Criminal Responsibility and Crime Prevention Among Military Personnel

The article highlights the need for improving the measures of preventing crimi- nal behavior among mi litary personnel, in particular in social, cultural and educational sectors, and propose the ways to improve laws and regulations in these areas. We have emphasized the need to optimize the activities of military courts, their openness and transparency, which could strengthen confidence in the institution of military justice. Legal education through lectures and discussions, as well as a personal example of law-abiding behavior of military unit commanders play a key role in preventing offenses and crimes. Expanding the use of alternative punishments is also important, as it minimizes recidivism.
