The article is devoted to the theoretical analysis of the concepts “personnel”, “personnel management” and “personnel management system”. Besides, it describes the role of the personnel management system in the management of the organization and evaluates the effectiveness of the personnel management system. A competently developed personnel management system of the company will certainly enable the company to achieve great success. The main thing is that this system should be clearly designed and organized, be based on specific goals and principles, serve the interests of both management and the staff, and should be aimed at achieving the overall strategic goals of the company.
