The article presents the existing casting technique by trail-and-error approach, with its advantages and disadvantages. The using of advanced methods and tools manufacturing parts will lead to production of competitive goods. We propose a method for multiproduct production process improvements, which is based on the employment of rapid prototyping technology. This method has been experimentally tested in making of an engineering sample of the internal combustion engine (thrust 2 h.p). As a result, the applicability limits of the proposed production method were established.
