This study presents research data on three powder compositions obtained via laser ablation. The mixtures consist of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) and zirconium oxide (ZrO2) in varying proportions — 10, 20, and 30 wt.%, respectively. We have analyzed the precursors using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and beta-electron fluorescence (BET). The molded specimens were sintered at temperatures ranging from 1500 °C to 1600 °C. We determined key characteristics of final ceramic products: density, porosity, and flexural strength. From each composition, the sample with the highest flexural strength was selected for microstructural analysis of the cross-section using SEM. The study investigated the influence of zirconium dioxide additives on the phase composition and mechanical properties of corundum-based armor ceramics, as well as the optimal synthesis parameters.
