Improvement of the criminal law norms provided for in articles 207.1and 207.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation

Based on the analysis of scientific sources and elements of the crimes provided for in Articles 207.1 and 207.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the article discusses various options for improving the criminal law on the public dissemination of deliberately false socially significant information. In particular, in order to solve the issue of intersectoral competition of the analyzed criminal law norms and administrative legal norms (Parts 9 and 10 of Article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation), the article examines the amendments to legislative norms proposed in the scientific literature: decriminalization of legal norms, adoption new article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. As a direction for improving the studied criminal law norms in the scientific literature, the introduction of administrative prejudice is proposed, in connection with which the article examines the ratio of the objective aspects of the compositions of the analyzed crimes and the administrative offense provided for in Parts 9 and 10 of Article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. In addition, options for amendments to Articles 207.1 and 207.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, contributing to the distinction between the considered compositions of crimes and offenses. The research methodology is the method of comparative analysis, the systematic method of scientific knowledge. In conclusion, a classification of directions for improving legal norms is proposed; the author’s edition of the criminal law norm on the public dissemination of deliberately false socially significant information.
