Council of working and peasant defense

The article is devoted to one of the emergency management bodies of the Russian Soviet Republic during the Civil War - the Council of Workers 'and Peasants' Defense. The emergence of this body was vital for "saving the very essence of Soviet power" during the civil war and foreign intervention in Russia. As soon as the threat to the Soviet system ceases to exist, this state structure will be transformed into a political institution whose task will be to restore the economic mechanism in a time that is peaceful for the country.
