Soviet "Philosophical encyclopedia" in China

This article describes the translations into Chinese of the five-volume Soviet branch "Philosophical encyclopedia", published in 1960-1970 in the publishing house "Soviet encyclopedia" under the editorship of academician F. V. Konstantinov. This fundamental work was designed to fully highlight the main issues of philosophy, primarily dialectical and historical materialism, and played an important role in the development of Russian-language philosophy of the late XX century. An attempt is made to show the importance of translation as a conductor of the profound influence of Soviet philosophy on the Chinese intelligentsia of that time. It also provides a brief overview of the historical context of translated editions of the "Philosophical encyclopedia", examines in more detail the criteria and principles of selection of dictionary entries for Chinese translated philosophical publications, examines in detail the similarities and differences in the macrostructure and microstructure of the original and translations of the 60s and 80s.
