Soviet house of culture: on the question of the authors of interior painting machine-building plant club in Bolshevo in 1947-1948

The article examines the importance of cultural houses as a phenomenon in public life and educational activities in the Soviet period.Using the example of the club of the Machine-Building Plant in Bolshevo, the author shows how much importance was attached to the interior design at after-war period. In 1947-48, repairs of building were carried out with the involvement of leading muralist artists of that time. Sketches of frescoes and murals are provided as illustrations for the article. Subsequently, the murals were painted over. The author raises the question of the need for careful restoration of the interiors of a building that is an object of cultural heritage of regional significance
