This article examines the forms and methods of sociocultural mediation implemented by the So-ciety of Soviet-Czechoslovak Friendship in the post-war years. It is noted that this mediation occurred through the lens of specific cultural figures who brought various projects into public practice, including the publication and pro-motion of works by Jaroslav Hašek and the staging of Eugen Suchoň's opera during the 1950s and 1960s. The study used a comparative historical method, as well as an anthropological and systematic approach. The novelty of the work is determined both by the study of an insufficiently covered topic and by the source basis provided by materials of various origins from state archives. Particular attention is paid to the search for forms and methods of cooperation, the role of public friendship organizations of the USSR and Czechoslovakia. It is shown that the initi-ative activity of cultural figures contributed to the strengthening and development of interstate relations.
