Modern historiography of the relationships between regional authorities and the Russian Orthodox Church on the territory of the Baikal region in the Soviet period

The article examines the main directions in modern historiography of state-church relationships on the territory of the Baikal Region. Based on the analysis of a wide range of scientific works the author shows certain achievements in the research of some issues, such as transformation of relationships between the state and the Russian Orthodox Church in different periods; the life of eparchies in Irkutsk and Zabaikalsk regions; peculiarities of secularization of moral and spiritual consciousness of the population, etc. The author also identifies prospects for further researches.
