The article considers the role and the significance of the education paradigms in the modern conditions. The author has analyzed the logic of the “negation of negation” law in regard to the development of higher education. At the turn of the 20th century the classical paradigm of education, based on the formation of such a quasi-class as intelligentsia, entered into an acute state of crisis, which resulted in emergence of two opposing models: the Soviet and the Western. The current crisis again makes one to turn to philosophic foundations of the education policy.
