Modem complex treatment of the wounded from combat injured limb

Clinical outcomes of 117 injured patients with isolated firearm limbs injuries were analyzed. The conception of «damage control orthopedics» and stage osteosynthesis were applied in treatment. The clinical outcomes of treatment with the special military kit of rod fixation in 58 injured patients were compared with the outcomes of 59 patients treated with other external fixation kits. Effectiveness of special military kit of rod fixation was demonstrated. Using the special military kit of rod fixation and vacuum-assisted closure therapy in the first stage of treatment allows to reduce the treatment time and to improve the functional and anatomical outcomes.
