The state of spruce fir forests of Tatar forest research station experimental sites of gradual cutting

The article presents new results of investigation of three stationary experimental sites, created by the leading scientists of Tatar forest research station A. I. Murzov, F. V. Agliullin and K. V. Krasnobaeva in 1960-1990th in plus spruce fir stands in «Sabinskoe» forestry in Tatarstan. In 2004-2005th the last step of gradual cutting on selective-ecological base and internal stands structure (group-gap-selective (GGS) regeneration cutting and thinning) was performed at these objects. According to the results obtained in 2014th (ten years after cutting) mixed uneven-aged stands with dominating spruce and fir, with 75 % of healthy trees are forming here. It is recommended to perform the next step of gradual felling with selective evaluation of stands and measures of assistance to natural reproduction of coniferous and broadleaved species.
