Current state and features of the development of higher economic education

An attempt has been made, based on an analysis of statistics, to show the current state of higher education in Russia, the significant role of economic specialties, to identify problems and identify trends in its development. The results of a study conducted by the authors among economic students to assess the effectiveness of training and the level of residual knowledge are presented. Based on teaching experience and original research, studying scientific literature, conclusions and recommendations for improving higher economic education are substantiated.
