Current status and prospects for the development of DNA-research in criminalistics

Based on statistical data the article considers the quantitative and qualitative indicators of DNA-studies and examinations carried out by the expert divisions of internal affairs bodies. The effectiveness of these studies and examinations is analyzed. A comparative analysis of the results of DNA-studies in Russia and foreign countries is given. The latest changes in the regulatory framework governing DNA-registration are considered. The promising directions of development of DNA-identification and phenotyping in the investigation of crimes are studied.
