Current state and prospects of industrial tourism development in Rostov region

Industrial enterprises can currently act as one of the significant components of the tourism potential of the subjects of the Russian Federation. The industrial tourism formation is a reliable mechanism for promoting products, an effective marketing element that allows attracting tourists and investors. However, there are few studies on the industrial tourism development in the regional aspect. This article notes the relevance and popularity of industrial tourism in the modern world, highlights its advantages for various subjects (tourists, enterprises, region). The article presents the results of assessing the state of industrial tourism in Rostov region and determines the prospects for its development in the future were. Content analysis of websites of travel companies, local and regional authorities, industrial enterprises, as well as a questionnaire survey of potential consumers were used as research methods. The conclusion of the study is that Rostov region has sufficient industrial potential, and the basis for the formation of industrial tourism in the region is the support of local authorities and demand from consumers of excursion services. In the region, there is an all-Russian tendency to visit industrial facilities with career guidance goals for schoolchildren and students, among other categories of consumers, food industry enterprises, mainly wine and gastronomic routes, as well as organizations for the production of handicrafts, have gained particular popularity. The bulk of active excursions are one-day in nature. Thus, the existing industrial potential is not fully used now, the share of industrial tourism is small, and development is very slow. In this connection, the model for the further development of industrial tourism in the region should be paid close attention.
