The article contains data of an analytical nature, revealing the specifics of adaptive physical education of children with Down syndrome. The authors give a description of this disease, the reasons for its occurrence, the general patterns of children's development, analyze the existing developments in this educational field, specify the problems of further scientific research. The goal is to specify the goals of the pedagogic process of adaptive physical education, the focus of monitoring, to characterize the means of remedial and health work.
