Current status of studying the problem of thinking in psychology

The purpose of this article is to analyze the existing psychological and pedagogical research in the field of the development of thinking and mental operations in older preschoolers and younger schoolchildren. The author analyzed domestic and foreign scientific works devoted to this issue. As a result of the analysis of the literature, the thought process was singled out, the stages of the development of scientific knowledge in the field of the problem of thinking were described. The article presents an analysis of various approaches in psychology that describe the nature of the development of the problem of thinking, various definitions of the concept of thinking are given.
