Modern data on the population of the common buzzard ( Buteo buteo) in the region of Vitebsk, Belorussia

Studies of the population of the Common Buzzard in the region of Vitebsk at the years 2000-2014 show, that the ecological niche of the species in question has narrowed in terms on the nesting area, nest architectonics and feeding, but broadened regarding to the nesting treeы. The shift in the feeding has not happened: the Morisita index, which shows the overlapping of the trophical niches, is close to 1. Almost all the population characteristics, such as the size of the clutch, size of eggs, and number of fledglings to one successfully breeding pair were stable. The success of breeding turned out to be very high - 95.5%.
