Currently, customs authorities perform the main function of ensuring the security of the national and economic interests of the Russian Federation. In recent years, a number of currency and trade restrictions have been introduced to protect the national market. Customs authorities perform the main function of monitoring the implementation and compliance with adopted restrictions. The article analyzes the activities of customs authorities, evaluates the number of cases initiated, inspections carried out and the amount of fines collected, which makes it possible to characterize the effectiveness of their work.
