Modern aspects of training specialists in import substitution

The article presents the process of a possible scenario for the training of specialists in the field of import substitution as a separate field of study for engineering specialties in this relevant field. Import substitution, due to current circum-stances, has become not just prototyping and copying foreign technologies, but a more comprehensive direction, in-cluding many aspects - both legal, technical and economic. However, currently there are no separate import substitu-tion courses in technical schools - there are only separate elective courses. Russia's dependence on imports is critical: until recently, about 90% of machine tools for the Russian industry were purchased in other countries, domestic heavy machinery is 60-80% dependent on imports, the medical industry is 70-80%, and the electronic industry is 90%. The direction of graduate training in the field of import substitution may be relevant as a form of basic higher education (equivalent to a bachelor's degree) and specialized higher education (equivalent to a master's degree). Import substitution is a symbiosis of several directions, it is an interdisciplinary symbiosis of technical, legal and economic competencies. At the same time, as the study showed, many universities use training methods in the field of import substitution, but significantly change the name of this term with long names of competencies.
