Modern philosophical problems of creativity

The paper provides a brief overview of the problem of creativity in Russian and international philosophical and historical studies from ancient times till present. Special attention is paid to the specific nature of creativity in Russian philosophy. The author, who is involved in arts for professional reasons, suggests a novel structure of creative activity on the part of philosophy based on the established structure of activity in psychology. The emphasis is placed on the philosophical problems of creativity that have been little discussed: stimulating creativity, self-fulfillment, criticism of creativity, evaluation criteria. The research highlights a philosophical component in several everyday problems of creativity. The author concludes that an interdisciplinary approach is essential in solving the problems and further developing the category of creativity.
