Recent studies of the genetics of complex diseases associated with impaired cognitive functions

The present work summarizes data of recent studies related to the search for the genetic component of complex diseases leading to impaired cognitive functions. The main attention is paid to such pathologies as schizophrenia and Alzheimer’s disease. The article provides a detailed analysis of a wide range of modern genetics methods: from twin studies to epigenetic research.
