Modern methods of modification of elastomers to increase frost resistance: a review of scientific research

The paper analyzes methods of elastomeric materials modifying as shock absorbers of transport facilities. The study considers chemical, physical-mechanical and compositional approaches aimed at reducing of glass transition temperature, preventing brittleness and improving performance characteristics of elastomers. System analysis is carried out to estimate effect of functionalization, cross-linking, plasticization, introduction of nanofillers and multicomponent systems on frost resistance of polymer composites. The results of the study allow us to determine the most effective modification strategies and formulate directions for further development of frost-resistant elastomeric materials for transport facilities.
