Modern Paradigms of Russian Retail

Trade is a complex and systemic sector of the country's economy, which is a key donor of gross domestic product. The article presents the results of the retrospective analysis that helps to determine the influence of macroeconomic factors on the development of trade and to reveal the trends of modern Russian retail. The restrictions imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic have changed the usual retail, transformed the old ones, and generated new trends in retail development resulting in a change in the Russian retail paradigm. Competitive advantages will obtain those retailers who bet on omnichannel and e-commerce.
