Modern approaches to assessing the effectiveness of quality management at an enterprise

This study examines modern approaches to assessing the effectiveness of quality management at enterprises, considering the formation and functioning of quality management systems (QMS). The key issues addressed arise from the formalized implementation of QMS, resulting ultimately in managerial disengagement, inadequate certification, and ineffective monitoring of transformation effectiveness. It is noted that existing quality standards are largely conceptual and lack specific methodologies and tools for assessing the effectiveness of changes. The research critically analyzes studies dedicated to methods and approaches for evaluating the effectiveness of QMS and quality management. Despite the variety of existing approaches (systemic, process, project-based, risk-oriented, and synergistic), the analysis revealed a lack of unified criteria for assessing the effectiveness of quality management as a result of QMS operation. The study highlights the peculiarities of applying each approach to quality management evaluation and substantiates the necessity of their integrated application to obtain a more objective assessment. In the context of improving QMS, the study emphasizes the appropriateness of using integral assessment methods, as they enable evaluations to be carried out using multiple approaches simultaneously. To facilitate such assessment, the deployment of digital technology infrastructure is required. Therefore, future research perspectives include developing methodological recommendations and selecting digital solutions to enhance the processes of assessing quality management effectiveness in enterprises.
