In the modern world, it is of great importance to assess the value of a business both for the owner of the company and for investors during a commercial transaction. The article discusses modern methods of assessing the value of a company, and focuses on the threats arising from modern methods of business valuation. Further, on the basis of the study, possible options for adjusting the methodology in accordance with the current features of the functioning of companies are presented.
