Modern approaches to children’s heart transplantation

Children’s heart transplantation is a complex surgical procedure necessary for severe heart failure caused by congenital heart defects (CHD) or cardiomyopathies. The article discusses key aspects of transplantation, including indications, waiting list management, the use of mechanical circulatory support, and approaches to combating graft rejection. Modern achievements in the field of transplantation, the importance of an interdisciplinary approach, optimization of transplantation protocols and the introduction of new technologies are discussed. Special attention is paid to the influence of the age and size of donors on the results of transplants, as well as the long-term survival of recipients.
