Modern approaches to solving the problem of step voltage regulation using batteries of static capacitors

The article describes the operating principle of capacitor units for voltage regulation in industrial enterprises. The advantages and disadvantages of these electrical machines, as well as their design features, are considered. The main drawback of voltage regulation using capacitor units has been revealed, namely stepwise regulation. Two views on solving this problem are considered. In the first case, it is assumed that batteries of equal power will be used at each stage together with reactors. In the second case, the use of capacitor banks of different power is provided, so that the capacity of each next stage is twice as high as the previous one. Based on the results of the study of approaches, a comparative analysis of two approaches to solving the problem was carried out, which showed the advantages and disadvantages of using each method depending on the case of their application.
