Modern strategies for control of dyslipidemia in patients at extreme risk of cardiovascular complications

Despite the continuous change in the concept of atherosclerosis, dyslipi-demia remains a leading risk factor for the development of atherosclerotic diseases. This review article presents current data on the problem of lipid profile control, the main strategies for lipid-lowering therapy, the relevance of the use of subtilisin/kexin type 9 proprotein convertase inhibitors in patients with very high and extreme risk of cardiovascular complications.
