Modern tactics of surgical treatment of patients with cataract

Currently, there are about 37 million blind and 124 million visually impaired people worldwide. Of these, 47% are cataract patients. Lens opacities of varying degrees are found in 60-90% of people over 60 years of age. In connection with the general tendency of the aging of the population, the number of patients with cataracts is growing steadily. In this regard, the question arises of optimizing the approach to organizing surgical treatment of cataracts. The introduction of early surgical treatment of the paired eye (within the framework of one hospitalization), according to some authors, can reduce time and organizational problems, adding the benefits of early rehabilitation and the quality of life of patients without loss of quality of treatment.
