Cost management of services in the housing and utilities sector, especially in the field of water supply and wastewater disposal, plays a crucial role in ensuring their reliability and high quality. The answer to dynamic economic conditions and tightening environmental standards is to improve approaches to pricing. This article is devoted to the analysis of relevant trends and methodological principles aimed at improving not only the financial performance but also the functional efficiency of utility companies. The advantages of using a variety of tariff policy strategies are argued, including economically rational methods, incentive-based practices and the RAB method. Particular emphasis is placed on the consideration of advanced technologies and decentralized management as tools for improving efficiency in the sector. The study shows that multifaceted policies combining reasonable tariffs, active regulation and the latest technologies are becoming the basis for sustainable growth and improved service in the water and wastewater sector. Future research could focus on the development of unified tariff models that take into account regional conditions and the specific needs of diverse consumer groups. In addition, special attention should be paid to integrating digital innovations into tariff regulation practices to increase transparency and efficiency.
