The modern tendencies in music education in Hungary: cooperative learning method

The modern music pedagogy in Hungary continues the traditions, founded in the middle of the last century by outstanding musician and teacher Zoltán Kodály. However the Kodály concept leaves the teacher free to choose methodological solutions. Whereby the common goal and the unified focus of the music education have maintained, but there is a rethinking of the methods of work, updating of the teaching material and orientation to the new pedagogical trends. Particularly, research in psychological sciences, which with the development of computer technologies and medicine, carries more and more potential is of great interest. In musical education are increasingly used methods aimed at developing the personality as a whole. The pedagogues explore the influence of musical studies on the success of studying other school subjects, on the development of higher mental functions, social skills (working in group, make joint decisions, withdraw from conflict situations). The cooperative learning method to which this article is devoted is one of the directions for the development of modern Hungarian pedagogy. This method was first formulated by American educators of the late XIX century. Being long rooted in the educational systems of some countries (USA, Canada, etc.), in the music lessons it has only been used for the last several decades. The essence of the cooperative method in creating conditions under which students can learn not only the educational material, but also the basic skills of communication and interaction. This method can be useful for Russian teachers, because in the modern school, in addition to the transfer of knowledge, it is also important to develop the communicative and creative skills of students.
