Contemporary trends in teaching Russian language in primary classes

This article is devoted to the study of modern trends in the teaching of the Russian language in primary classes. The analysis of researches of scientists in the field of teaching Russian to children of primary school age is carried out. Methods and forms of teaching that promote the activation of cognitive activity of younger schoolchildren are presented. Conclusions are made about the expediency of using extracurricular activities in the process of teaching the Russian language in an elementary school.
