Modern issues of the development of hydropower in the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (SRV)

The article deals with modern issues of hydropower development in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (hereinafter - SRV). The author focuses on the following research issues: the development potential of hydropower, the main socio-economic advantages of hydropower, the sustainable development of hydropower and ensuring national energy security in Vietnam. At the same time, shortcomings and limitations in the development of hydropower in the SRV are revealed. Based on this, the author proposes measures for the sustainable development of hydropower in the SRV at the present time.
