The article discusses the possibilities and use of drones in our time. The mathematical model of the algorithm for avoiding obstacles in autonomous mode with the construction of a histogram of the vector field and methods for programming autonomous flight based on the original algorithm of the University of Zurich are analyzed. An assessment of the effectiveness of algorithms and methods for their modernization are provided.
