Modern poss ibilities of nutritional supports in cardiac surgery patients

Cardiosurgical interventions under cardiopulmonary bypass concern the category of the expressed surgical trauma at which arising metabolic and hormonal changes promote strengthening of catabolic reactions. Enteral nutritional support in cardiosurgical patients is the important component in the postoperative therapy of this category of patients and promotes reduction of complications and mortality. In this article safety issues and efficiency of nutritional supports in cardiac are discussed.
