Humanism is a direction of human thought, the main goal of which is the desire to create the best conditions for the realization of human potential and development. In judging a theory from the point of view of its humanity, we have to answer for ourselves the question of how this theory can improve a person's attitude towards himself and others. The article analyzes the moral and ethical arguments offered by followers of the illusory concept of human free will. Foremost among them is the idea that the recognition of the lack of free will leads to the removal of moral responsibility for the crimes committed, which should promote tolerance in society and the rejection of the logic of hatred. It is demonstrated that these conclusions can also be derived from the recognition of human freedom, so the thesis of the absence of the latter is not at all a necessary foundation of a humanistic worldview.
