Modern Russian federalism and the regions: legal and political aspect

The article contains the characterisation of the notion federation, the analysis of competence of the Russian Federation and its constituent entities. The political subjectivity of the regions is described. The conclusions about the essence and features of the Russian model of federalism, the new tendencies of its development are made, the ways of its perfection are suggested.
