Creation of a database of "Red Book" bird species of the Buryat and Tyva republics

The article presents materials on the electronic database of rare bird species in Central Asia, analyzes information about birds listed in the regional Red books of the Buryat (2013) and Tuva (2018) Republics, develops the database structure and defines software based on Google Maps API. The database structure includes information on the systematic position of the species, the stay, distribution, migrations, habitats and relative numbers. The introduction of modern information technologies in the process of data collection, analysis and accumulation opens up new opportunities in biological and environmental research. The developed software package can be used not only in the monitoring of rare, «red book» species, but also much wider-in the conduct of floristic and faunal studies, during specialized ecological tours, etc. In addition, he showed himself well during the field practices with students of the Faculty of biology, geography and land management of Buryat State University.
