The establishment and activities of the International committee of children's and adolescents’ movements (CIMEA) in the 1960s-1980s

The research discusses the historical background to and the basic aspects of the International Committee of Children’s and Adolescents’ Movements (CIMEA) founded in 1958. The relevance of the study is determined by the great impact of such international organizations on the younger generation in the second half of the 20th century and the need to summarize a wealth of CIMEA’s experience gained over time. An attempt is made to examine the most effective forms of work and approaches of the Committee. The emphasis is placed on the analysis of its organizational structure. The author concluded that, in the second half of the 20th century, there was a rise in children and youth movement, thousands of organizations were involved in the upbringing, education, and adaptation of the younger generation within the bipolar world order. Their extensive experience should be studied and actively used in the modern world.
